Frequently Asked Questions:

What method of dog training do you use?
Positive reinforcement using affection as the reward. We do not condone or support the use of clickers, treats, prong or choke collars or any other masking technique/equipment that instills fear or pain, or removes your dog's ability to make their own decisions.

What's the difference between a 6Legs to Fitness Class and a Street Safety Class?
6Legs to Fitness is about raising the level of physical fitness for both you and your dog, there is really no element of dog training, it is expected that your dog will have some level of manners.  A Street Safety Training Class is about creating a great companion animal that is welcome everywhere you go and you have a mutual bond of trust and respect.  It is in the Street Safety Class that we work on "sit, come, stay and down" but these classes are SO much more than that. We are really out to give your dog some mental stimulation, they have brains in their head, we're going to get them to USE them!

What's the difference between a 6Legs to Fitness and a Move It! class?

6Legs has a lot of strength building exercises, including push ups, sit ups, lunges, squats, dips and more!  Move It! is about just that, how far can we go in the time we have alotted?  Both are a ton of fun and a great work out, just focusing on different areas.

Does your dog training fix a dog's problems in a half an hour like on the TV show, "At the End of My Leash"?
{laughing} NO! And the show does not imply problems are fixed that quickly. There are numerous home visits on the show, "homework" is assigned, and follow ups very obviously happen over time. However we speak from experience when we say that if you do the work, changes happen more quickly than you would expect!

My dog pulls on the leash like crazy, can you help?
Most definitely.  This is one of the top three questions we're asked for help with!

Where are you located?
Calgary and we provide training to all outlying areas.  If you are looking for a Hustle Up trainer in a different area, please let us know and we will put you in touch with the right person.

Where do your classes take place?
As outdoors is where you need your dog to pay attention to you the most, this is where we train. This teaches your dog to focus on you in your normal walking environment; all the noises, sights and smells are our training "props." The class locations vary; we are always looking for new obstacles and excitement for you! No dog wants to go the same route again and again, you've got to mix it up!

Are you licensed and insured?
Yes, we are a member of the All Canadian Pet Services Network, are insured and have the appropriate City of Calgary Licensing.
